TROWBRIDGE VILLAGE
Trowbridge Village is a vibrant, new mixed-use urban village adjacent to the Michigan State University campus, and offers dynamic new places to live, shop and dine. Trowbridge Village has been crafted to expand the vitality of the City of East Lansing and to provide a high quality mixed-use commercial experience which includes unique housing options near the campus of Michigan State University. This project has become a catalyst in the district by providing renovated and new commercial space that includes mixed uses with housing options to promote the region and support MSU. The project has enhanced the perception of East Lansing as a full service, mixed-use, urban environment. The existing 46,000+ square foot retail center was renovated to capture a “village” feel centered around Michigan’s first Fresh Thyme Farmers Market which is a food market committed to improving the way our communities eat by offering fresh and healthy food at amazing values. This anchor tenant is flanked by remodeled retail shops, cafes and restaurants.
The newly constructed Trowbridge Lofts building contains 3 stories of residential lofts over commercial space, which was fully occupied prior to opening. This new nearly 67,000 square foot 4-story mixed-use building targets students and young professionals seeking alternative housing. Each loft unit includes a solid core entry door, a small foyer and a full sized dual-galley kitchen. Each unit also includes a great room with large panoramic windows facing north or south, and a stacked full-sized electric washer and dryer. The Lofts is comprised of 57 units (99 beds) consisting of 42 two bedroom/two bath apartments; 6 one-bedroom/one-bath apartments; and 9 studio apartments on floors 2-4. The 1st floor retail consists of approximately 13,000 square feet, and is fully leased.
